WANDER IN LUST

Couple on Train

According to a survey of 1,000 couples asking how and if traveling affected their relationship positively, almost two thirds (63%) of the participants stated that traveling has helped them stay together. Here are the top 10 reasons we think traveling is one of the best ways to strengthen your relationship.

1. A Common Goal and Purpose

You share a common goal and purpose to see the world together. The anticipation and yearning for exciting destinations, committing yourselves to an endless adventure bonds couples and builds an important foundation for how to build your future.

2. Understanding and Adjusting to Limitations

Traveling is the most revealing way to get to know somebody and to measure your compatibility. You discover strengths and weaknesses and find out how to complement each other as you navigate on your adventure together.

3. Better Communication

According to a survey it was found out that couples who travel together tend to have a shared point of view and have fewer disagreements than couples who don’t travel together. Traveling makes them more understanding and patient for each other, and it helps you navigate conflict in a way that's immediate and doesn't build resentment.

4. A Better Sexual Relationship

According to a survey, couples who travel together have a better sexual relationship than couples who don’t travel together. Traveling is exciting and intimate, you're in a new environment and you're away from the stresses of every day life, who wouldn't be turned on! According to the survey more than three quarters of those who traveled admitted that they have a good sex life.

5. Experiencing Something New Together

They say you should spend money on experiences rather than things... and that couldn't be more true. Are you and you're partner going to share the story of the time you bought a designer piece of furniture, or the time you're went kayaking in Vieques at night to see the gorgeous bio-luminescence in the warm clear waters?

6. Shared Sense of Humor

You can’t travel together without turning up some humor here and there. There are times when things just go horribly wrong and you have to laugh over it. It could be the horrible food you just bought on the street corner, having your hotel room mixed up or losing a map… something goes wrong and it is enough to have something to laugh at and sustain your happiness along the way.

8. You Live the Romance

Those classic romance scenes from the movies in front of the Eiffel Tower or sitting in a cafe in Rome, how about reenacting them! This is why 86% of respondents in a survey of traveling couples said that their relationship still had romance alive in it, compared to 73% of respondents who never traveled together.

9. Be in the Moment

While other couples who don’t travel together worry about the future, and build their relationship with doubts. Couples who travel together are not worried about whats going to happen next because they were living in the wonderful moments experienced with each other. Traveling together didn’t give them the opportunity to over-analyze their lives and create worry, but made them more able to appreciate the present moment.

10. Shared Life Experience

Traveling offers an opportunity for learning and exposing yourself to a diverse world of culture and lifestyle. Experiencing these things together means that you grow and gain knowledge as a couple. You learn things that make you more well rounded and fuller as people and better able to enrich your relationship.
